We give information, not advice
Our guides, tools, cost estimates and timelines are general information about divorce and separation in England and Wales. They are not legal, financial, medical or therapeutic advice, and they can't take your personal circumstances into account. The law and costs change, and every situation is different. Before making decisions, speak to a qualified professional.
Cost figures on our site are rough guides only. Actual costs depend on your situation and the professionals you use.
Laws are different in Scotland and Northern Ireland, and in other countries. Unless we say otherwise, our information covers England and Wales.
Professionals and the directory
- We introduce, we don't advise. When we match you with a professional, any service they provide is a contract between you and them. They're responsible for their advice and work, under their own terms and professional rules.
- We check, but you should too. We take reasonable steps to check the professionals we list, but we can't guarantee their work. Check their registration and terms before instructing them.
- Paid listings are labelled. Some professionals pay to be listed or for introductions. We always label paid placements. See how we make money.
- Our directory of charities and services is for information. Listing an organisation isn't an endorsement, and we have no paid relationship with them unless we say so. Their details can change, so check with them directly.
